Perhaps one of the most important and interesting sights in Fez is the Chouara Tannery where various leather goods are dyed in large vats. This city really needs to be part of your Morocco itinerary, as it's one of the best real places in the country. Also don't miss the Merenid Tombs (map), which provide a breathtaking view of the medina and sprawling city of Fez. It dates back to the 14th century and is an excellent example of Islamic architecture. Be sure and visit Bou Inania madersa which is the historic religious college. If you're looking for specific attractions in Fez, there are also a good number of options. Simply wander, with no real destination in mind, and you'll be surprised at what you see and find. You should allow yourself plenty of time to get lost in the medina. Winter highs are typically in the high 50s Fahrenheit and summer highs can climb into the high 90s. Winters can be cool and rainy while summers are hot and dry.
